In a tough schedule with two games in one day to start the premier league season Peterborough fought hard but the later games were too much for our young team.
We knew two games in a day would be hard and the confidence was high after winning the first game of the day and season against Farnham. Farnham finished last season at the foot of National Division 1 and decided they would step up to the Prem after ND1 was scrapped so the Premier league could be restructured but our team are very young, and you do not know what you up against until the day so we knew we could not take the opposition lightly. Peterborough however was dominant from start to finish and were worthy winners in their first season as a team in the topflight winning the game 9-1. After a long break we and a visit to the pub for a meal we were back on later that evening against local foes Cambridge & Cottenham RHC. First half was a closely fought half with mistakes costing both teams goals and a penalty was what separated the two teams at half time with CCRHC leading 3-2 at the break. The second half proved too much for our team Cottenham who also had played a game earlier seemed to be the fresher of the two teams I don't know if this due to them being at home and maybe getting some rest time in the comforts of their homes after their first game or we just had too many desserts after our meals. Cottenham came out deserved winners in the end beating our team 9-5.
