Our Under 17's went into todays tournament knowing that the days fixtures would go along way in deciding the league title this year. Peterborough who were unbeaten this year wining 7 from 7 and haven't actually lost in over 40 games after winning every trophy (4) last season without losing a game.
Todays fixtures would be their hardest to date with a game against also unbeaten side Letchworth Blue and an unknown Middlesbrough team who have entered this years ECRHC Under 17's league. Peterborough first game of the day was against the the team from the north east this proved to be a tough game for Peterborough with the Middlesbrough Keeper making some great saves. Peterborough played better in the second half and eventually won the game 3-0 with goals from Harry Hillam 2 and Finley Durston. Next up for the Blue and Whites was a strong Letchworth team that everyone in the sports centre was waiting for. This game was always going to be a close encounter with really good players on each side the game lived up to the hype and both teams tried their best to win the game however it was the team in the Hoops that came out on top of the back of a hat-trick by Harry Hillam wining the game 3-2. Letchworth's 2 goals came from the stick of Peterborough's U17s Eurokey team mate Sasha Aitkin who is playing his first season in the garden city this year. Peterborough finished the day against ECU Pink the game was routine for the city side eventually winning the game 6 - 1 with goals from Harry 2, James 2, Flynn and Finley. Gemma scored the lone ECU goal. With the three wins today this leaves PRHC top of the league and unbeaten with 10 wins from 10 games but a another fixture against Letchworth Blue later on in the season will be another key match on where the title will go this year.
