Our Under 17's were in action again this weekend, Saturday 3rd December 2022. Playing in their home season tournament. They were up against Three teams they hadn't yet played in Kings Lynn, ECU 2 and Northern Counties side Manchester who had applied to play in this year's Eastern counties competition.
Peterborough played well in their first game of the day against a big Kings Lynn side although the city side let in their first goals of the season, they still managed to win the game comfortably by the score of 9-2. Next up for the team was ECU Pink, Ely & Chesterton United this year have split their teams in two one an all-boys team and one a girls' team this team was the Girls' team after dispatching the Boys last week by six goals to zero the Girls succumbed to the same fate losing 6-0 to our team in Blue and White. Third game of the day was against ECU Blue the Boys had been playing well today and our team knew it wouldn't be an easy game as it never is against ECU but in a tight game Peterborough came out on top wining 5-3 and doing the double over a good side who are well coached. Last was Manchester, Peterborough went into the game with a depleted team losing a number of there Under 15 eligible players to a trial being held on the same day as this tournament for the ECRHA inter regionals team. Jake Owen kitted up for the first time of the tournament although injured as we only had Harry, James, Szymon and Finley now available. Although depleted in numbers and tired as it was their fourth game of a long day Peterborough still came out on top beating Manchester 5-3. Another successful day for our under 17's wining four from four starting the season seven from seven scoring 54 goals and only conceding 8.
