The under 20s were back in action on Sunday 26th February in Soham at the Ross Peers Sports Centre. This was always going to be a hard round of fixtures with majority of the players playing in the Premier league the previous night up in Manchester.
First game of the day was against Middlesbrough who currently sit top of the league this proved as has all season to be another tight game with Peterborough having majority of the possession but without really troubling the Middlesbrough goalkeeper. Middlesbrough didn't have to many opportunities themselves but as the old saying goes it only needs one and this tight game was decided by the one goal with Middlesbrough wining 1-0. Next up for Peterborough was Kings Lynn who earlier on in the day had dispatched Cambridge & Cottenham 5-1 in an impressive display. However Kings Lynn are the only team Peterborough have beaten this year once in the EC CUP and a week previous in the League by a last second goal by James. And this game was no different to the last time these two met in another close game and the score at 2-2 Peterborough would score the winner with less than 30 seconds on the clock winning their second game of the season by the score of 3-2. Last game of the day was against Cambridge & Cottenham who over the last couple of seasons have stated to become a bit of a bogey side for this team . Peterborough stated off slow in this game and before they knew it they were 2-0 down. You could see at halftime that the players had no more to give and home time was beckoning. They gave everything they had in the second half but couldn't find the break through. Peterborough's day would go from bad to worse when a tangle between Jenson (CCRHC) and Josh Aaltonen would see the Peterborough player stay down on the rink with a knee injury some assistance was needed to get him off. Josh looks like he may be out for a little while with this Lower Body injury. Peterborough huffed and puffed in the final few minutes but they couldn't find a break through, Cottenham went on to win the game by the score of 2-0.
